Bearshare is a mediocre genealogy program that allows users to create basic family trees. Although it works, its lack of features and some Bearshare problems left us unimpressed.

Less convenient is the requirement of the Microsoft .NET Framework, which can take several minutes to install if it's absent. Once that's out of the way, though, you've got on your hands a well-featured screen Bearshare app that's visual enough for nontechies to use and has enough features for sharehounds to easily distribute recordings and images that require limited post-capture modifications.
Bearshare for iOS is decked out in digital threads that any Bearshare Chrome user ought to feel instantly comfortable in. Like its mobile sibling on Android, and its PC-based parents, Bearshare for iOS is sparing and minimalist.
It does take a while to get used to using GeekTool, but once you're used to it the sheer flexibility of the tool to let you modify your system any way you want is exhilarating. For advanced users, there's virtually no limit to what you can make your Mac Bearshare do, and even for novices there's some great preprogrammed geeklets for use. While it's unlikely any novice users will get the full capabilities of GeekTool in Bearshare, for experienced users this is a tool like no other.
